Eén van de minder bekende Franse merken is Stimula. Gebouwd tussen 1905 en 1914 in Saint-Chamond, gebruikten de fabrikanten, de gebroeders De La Chapelle, zoals zovele constructeurs uit die tijd, de bekende 1 cilinder motor van De Dion Bouton. De auto op de foto heeft zo’n motor met een inhoud van 942 cc (100 x 120 mm) en levert een vermogen van 8 PK. De motor dateert uit 1902 en de rest van de auto uit 1907. De wagen was representatief voor zijn tijd met zijn hoge bouw, half-elliptische veren en artillerie wielen. Het merk schreef 2 auto’s in voor de Coupe des Voiturettes race van 1907, maar dat is waarschijnlijk alles wat ze op sportief gebied hebben gedaan. De auto maakt deel uit van de collectie Autotron te Rosmalen.

One of the less known French makes is Stimula. Built between 1905 and 1914 in Saint-Chamond, the manufacturers,the brothers De La Chapelle, used, as so many other contemporary constructors, the well-known single cylinder De Dion Bouton engine. The car in the picture, which is part of the Autotron collection in Rosmalen, Netherlands, has such a unit of 942 cc capacity (100 x 120 mm) and delivers 8 HP. The engine dates from 1902 and the rest of the car was built in 1907. The car was really a product of it’s time with the high build, semi-elliptic springs and artillery wheels. Stimula entered two racing voiturettes for the 1907 Coupe des Voiturettes, but this appears to have been all they did in the sporting line.
